Westernaires Present “Summer Spark” – A Joyful Musical Outreach to Memory Care Centers in Sun City West
Sun City West, AZ – The Westernaires are proud to present Summer Spark, a special community service outreach bringing the joy of music to local memory care centers this summer. Different than a concert, Summer Spark is a relaxed, uplifting experience featuring familiar, sing-along favorites designed to spark memories and foster meaningful connections.
The performances will take place at memory care facilities in Sun City West, offering residents a chance to enjoy and engage with nostalgic music in a warm, welcoming setting. This heartfelt outreach reflects the Westernaires’ ongoing commitment to serving the community through music.
Returning to lead this special effort are Westernaires legends Sylvia Collins as Director and Janet Hochstatter as Accompanist —both cherished for their past Westernaires musical leadership. Together, they will guide a group of 25 participating singers through a 30-minute program filled with familiar tunes that invite audience participation and shared joy.
“Spark is all about the heart of music—joy, community, and connection,” says Benita Howe, current President of the Westernaires. “It’s a wonderful way to use our voices to give back and bring light to others.”
Rehearsals will be held at Stardust Theatre, and music will be distributed at the first session. Online practice resources will also be made available to support participants.
This initiative is a true reflection of the Westernaires’ spirit—sharing music, warmth, and community where it’s needed most.
