FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: August Event
Summer in Sun City West is a special time—quieter, a little slower, and perfect for making meaningful connections right here at home. While many of our Westernaires members travel during the warmer months, we know that not everyone is able to attend our regular seasonal concerts. That’s why we’re especially excited to bring the music directly to local assisted living communities with Spark 2026: “Jukebox Rock.”
Spark is a wonderful, abbreviated summer singing session designed specifically for Westernaires members who stay in Sun City West during the summer started in 2025. After about a month of rehearsals, our talented singers will share energetic 30-minute performances and sing-a-long at local assisted living and retirement communities.
These aren’t just concerts—they’re heartfelt visits filled with familiar favorites and classic jukebox hits from the eras we all love. Expect plenty of toe-tapping rhythms, sing-along moments, and warm nostalgia as we bring smiles, spark memories, and spread joy to residents who may not often get to enjoy live music.
We’re so grateful to almost 40 of our dedicated Westernaires members who are generously volunteering their time and beautiful voices to keep the music alive this summer. Their kindness and talent make these special performances possible and truly brighten our community.
Performances for residents of:
Aug 21: Brookdale Camino Del Sol & Brookdale Trail Ridge
Aust 24: The Legacy @ Heritage & The Park at Surprise
Aug 25: Fellowship Square
The club is especially grateful to the dedicated volunteers who make Spark possible:
Sylvia Collins, Spark Director
Linda Salustro, Administrative Coordinator
Jan Schaafsma, Primary Accompanist
Janet Hochstatter, Rehearsal Accompanist
Their leadership, hard work, and musical talent are deeply appreciated. Thanks to their commitment, we’re able to share the joy of music with even more people in our community this summer.
Here’s to a summer filled with music, friendship, and that extra “spark” we all enjoy!
